Court Reservations
How do I reserve a pickleball court, sign up for Open Play, or see the pickleball schedule?

What is “Open Play” and how does it work?
Open plays are perfect for anyone looking to play recreational pickleball doubles games with other players of a similar skill level. Open plays last for 1.5 – 2 hours and typically have a ratio of 5 players per court. (Our evening open plays and our social open plays have 6 people per court.) To keep a fair circulation of players, each player plays two games in a row before leaving the court for a break. Except after the first game of the open play, the winning team will stay on the court and split teams for their second game.
At the People’s Courts, our open plays are divided by skill level starting with,
Beginner Open Play
Open play 2.5-3.0
Open Play 3.0-3.5
Open Play 3.5-4.0
Open Play 4.0+
Open Play 4.5+
Please see the question below to find out which open play is right for you.
You must register ahead of time to come to an open play at The People’s Courts. We cap the amount of people allowed to ensure plenty of play time for registrants.
How do I know my pickleball rating?
This can be a little tricky. On a very general level, a beginner player is roughly 2.5 and below. An intermediate player is 3.0-3.5. An advanced player is 4.0. Anything over 4.0 is a very advanced player. For a more detailed chart of the pickleball rating system, click here.
What are the maximum play times courts can be reserved for?
- Mon-Fri: Before 5 pm— Indoor courts—can be reserved for up to 120 minutes. After 5 pm, they can be reserved for up to 90 minutes
- Sat-Sun: Indoor courts, can be reserved for up to 90 minutes all day
- Outdoor courts can be reserved for up to 120 minutes at any time.
Can multiple people in a group book for longer then the permitted time?
Using multiple people in your group to book for longer than the permitted time is not allowed. However, if you have at least eight people, you are permitted to book two courts side by side for the same time slot.
How far in advance can I reserve a pickleball court or sign up for pickleball open play?
Pickleball courts and open play reservations are possible up to 7 days in advance (to the hour). All other activities are first come, first serve during all hours of operations, 7 days a week. Leagues and private events are booked by special arrangement.
Is it possible to book additional court time or to book further than 7 days in advance?
